In
2007 Dato’ Hj. Ismail was awarded Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in humanitarian
activity by the Mindanao State University, the second largest university in the
Philippines. He currently serves as the Chairman and Senior Advisor to the
Group. He is now serving as the Chairman of the Board of Trustee of Yayasan Harapan.

Ir. Aziz bin Mustafa was born in Muar, Johor pada 1hb Oktober, 1956.
Aziz Mustafa, is a Chartered Civil &
Structural Engineer. Aziz has over thirty four years of experience in
engineering, construction, trading, and property development. Aziz is currently
Director of Jurutera Perunding Zaaba Sdn Bhd, a leading engineering consulting
firm and Executive Director of Mubina Sdn Bhd and Chairman of Symmetric Link
Sdn group of companies, which are involved in wide range of activities
including construction and property development. Aziz is also involved in
academia, currently Advisor to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Putra
Malaysia and Limkokwing University. Aziz was previously adviser to Universiti
Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Sains Malaysia. Aziz was Head of Civil
Engineering Department of the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Ir. Aziz has been involved in international
cooperation, dealing in joint-ventures with companies from the United States of
America, England and Europe, and is also actively involved in countries such as
Libya, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, the Philippines, Tanzania
and Somaliland. As a proof of his open-mindedness, Ir. Aziz has a long term
on-going joint ventures with companies from North Korea and has promoted
business activities in Somaliland.
Aziz is also a diplomat. In 2005, because of
his activities and network in the Philippines,
he was conferred the Dato Makhkota Sultan Kudarat, by the Sultan of Kudarat, Philippines.
In 2006 he was appointed by the President of the Republic
of Somaliland as Economic and
International Relations Representative of the Government of Somaliland to Malaysia. He
was instrumental in organizing a visit to Malaysia by the delegation comprising
of the Vice President and three Ministers from Somaliland, involving visits to
the previous Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, several other ministers
and meeting several Malaysian Government Ministries.
Ir. Aziz graduated with a Honors degree (Second
Upper Class) from Kings’s College University of London in 1979, and a Masters
of Science Degree in Foundation Engineering at the University of Birmingham in
1983. Ir. Aziz obtained his Professional Engineers status very early in his
career, being Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (MIEM) in 1984
and later as Fellow (FIEM) in 1996, Member of the Institution of Civil
Engineers UK (MICE) and Chartered Civil Engineer UK (CEng) in 1984, the first
Malay member of the Institution of Structural Engineers UK (MIStructE) and Chartered
Structural Engineer UK and Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers
(MASCE) in 1985. He was also members of the International Association for
Bridge and Structural Engineers (IABSE, Switzerland)
and Council of Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat (Lehigh, USA).
Ir. Aziz co-founded Jurutera Perunding ZAABA
(JPZ) in 1984 which now employs more than 100 engineers. His technical
experience as a consulting engineer includes design the Penang Mutiara Beach
Resort, the twin 32-storey Guoman Office and Hotel towers (KL), the 32-storey
Sheraton Towers (KL), the 40-storey Grand Hyatt Hotel (KL), the Redisson Hotel
(KL), 60-storey Ramli Towers (KLCC), the Grand Mosque Putrajaya, 75-storey
Amwaj Towers (UAE), Kuala Lumpur International Airport, state of the art
application of GIS and satellite survey for the East West Highway Risk Analysis
involving the Universities of Strathclyde and Bristol, and currently the Grand
Mosque of Putrajaya, and Independent Checker of the Penang Second Bridge.
Ir. Aziz was also an active academician. He was
Head of the Civil Engineering Department of National University of Malaysia
(UKM) where he taught graduate and post-graduate courses in engineering for at
least 7 years, between 1986 to 1992. Ir Aziz is also actively involved in the
development of the engineering profession. He chaired the committee for
drafting and publication of the Malaysian Standard for the Structural Use of
Concrete and the committee organizing a course on steel design by the British
Steel Construction Institute. He has published not less than twenty-five
technical papers for journals and conferences at both national and
international level, including those held in Chile,
China, Russia, United
Kingdom and United States. Currently, Ir. Aziz
is a Professional Interviewer with the Board of Engineers and the Institution
of Engineers Malaysia and frequently interviews candidates sitting for the
Professional Engineers qualification.

Mr. Wan Izzuddin Sulaiman, 51, is currently the CEO of
TEAM BIOVISION SDN BHD and is a board member in Oxitec (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, both
are biotechnology companies in Malaysia. He has served in various capacities in the
government as well as in the private sectors in Malaysia. He started his career
as an entomologist with the Ministry of Health and later on moved to the
Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI). His last position in
the government was as Vice President of the Malaysian Biotechnology
Corporation, an agency under MOSTI. In the private sector he worked as a
business consultant advising in technology evaluation, adoption and
commercialization. He received his training in Biological Sciences at the Southeast
Missouri State University, USA (M.Sc.) and in Epdiemiology & Biostatistics
(Advanced Diploma) at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. He also
serves as a Trustee in another foundation, Yayasan Bina Lestari Malaysia.
